The Indian coast Guard celebrated 45th rising day , on Monday, 1 February 2021 in Ahmedabad ( Gujrat ) .

Indian coast Guard has grown in to formidable force with 156 ships and 62 aircraft in its inventory and it is likely to achieve targeted force level of 200 surface platforms and 80 aircraft by 2025.

In his message on the eve of Raising day, Director general of ICG k Natarajan reaffirmed the commitment to the nation for ensuring safe secure and clean sea.

Despite of COVID 19 pandemic restrictions ICG has maintained 24×7 vigil in the Exclusive economic zone , by deploying about 50 ships and 12 aircraft daily.

  1. Indian coast Guard is a multi mission organization conducting round the year real life operations at sea.
  2. ICG has wide range capabilities for both surface and air operations.
  3. For effective command and control the maritime zones of India are divided in to five coast Guard : North East, east, Nothing west and Andman & Nikobar with the respective regional headquarters located at : Gandhinagar, Mumbai, chennai, kolkata and Portblair.
  4. The coast Guard regions are commanded by officers of the rank of inspector General.
  5. “Vayam Rakshmah ” It’s moto meaning : ” We protect the service has to it’s credit saving over 10,000 lives and apprehending around 14,000 miscreants since inception in 1977″. On an average, coast Guard saves one precious life every second day at sea.
  6. The Indian coast Guard as 4 th largest in the world has great role in securing the security of Indian coasts and enforcing regulations within maritime zones.
