Ankita Raina ; only 5th Indian woman to feature in Grand Slam main draw
Ankita Raina became only the 5th Indian woman tennis player in the open era to secure a place in the main draw of Grand Slam as she made the cut for the women’s doubles event of the Australian Open.
Ankita’s full name is Ankita Ravinderkrishan Raina, born on 11january 1993 .
She is 28 year old now . Her height is 5 feet 4 inch.

have competed in the Grand Slam main draws for the country.
Ankita is only 5th Indian after Sania, a six time Slam champion to complete in the women’s doubles of a tennis major.
Raina has also won gold medal in the women’s singles 2016 south Asian Games.
she also won bronze medal in singles at the 2018 Asian Games.
This year’s Grand slam starts here on February 08.
India will have four Indians competiting in the seasons first Grand Slam.
Ankita said, initially she did not find her name in the draw and was disappointed.
“Anyone who starts playing professional tennis dreams of playing in the Grand Slam”
I know it’s doubles but India’s name will be there.
These are the moments that spark something among people. May be a few will start dreaming that’s it’s possible, she added.
Not only my hardwork but blessing and support of countless people have brought me here.
I can’t forgot that, years of hardwork, toil, and now I m there. Ankita told to PTI after her meeting.
Regardless of the fact that it is doubles, I will take it. I stayed in the process.
May be next time , I will play singles too. She admires.
