The government is conducting auction of 2,251 MHz of spectrum through the Department of Telecommunications ( DTO) at a reserve price of Rs. 3.92 trillion from March 2021.
Existing users will also not be required to upgrade their existing SIM cards to get the new generation network experience on their smart phones.
For the early demonstration, Airtel used oppo Reno 5pro and oppo Find x2 pro smartphones.

During the demonstration of 5 G network, the operator claimed that it had capablity to operate it’s 5 G network over existing technology- neutral spectrum in mid bands that are at 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz frequency alongside the sub – GHz bands available at 800MHz & 900MHz.
